Biography

Before writing "Knock, Knock Who's There? Millionaire Status", I was working for a 401(k) provider as client contact for large U.S. corporations and as a bookkeeper of their various retirement plans. I oversaw the posting and funding of $100 million a month through these activities. Previous to my 401(k) position, I worked in a supporting role for portfolio managers across the world with $20 billion under management where I calculated tax-related investment metrics and overall portfolio return. Through these experiences, I acquired first-hand knowledge of many investment trends and financial activities that go on in these industries. I want to share how many individuals are making mistakes financially, how institutions are taking advantage of societies' lack of knowledge, and what you should do to live a financially secure life.

I have been interested in Business/Finance since the young age of 6 years old when I got the PC video game RollerCoaster Tycoon. In RollerCoaster Tycoon, you build and run a theme park and try and maximize profits. I went on to play various other profit-maximizing games in my youth and when high school rolled around, I took almost every business class I could at Carmel High School. This consisted of economics, accounting, personal finance, and general business.

I had the luxury of being able to choose these electives since Carmel High School is a very large school with 5,000 people attending and a wide selection of classes. A vast majority of students don’t have this luxury of choice, which is why I believe the school curriculums across the U.S. and world need to be changed and require Finance classes.
After High School, I went on to Bellarmine University to major in Finance. During my Freshman year, I was easily persuaded by my economics professor to double major in Finance and Economics since I would only need an additional 4 economic classes in my Junior and Senior year. I was also a year-round athlete doing Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, but since these majors were primarily conceptual, I didn’t have much of a problem balancing the activities.

After graduation, I took a job at a back-office processing company that helped portfolio managers around the world balance their holdings and calculate the investment returns. This allowed me to see the daily trading activities and portfolio holdings of billions of dollars under management. I then quit that position and did similar activities at a large 401K provider.
At this point, I started realizing that there was a lot of misinformation in the financial industry and felt the need to set things straight. I quit my 401K position and wrote this book so I could do so without any outside influence on what I could say to you. Maybe not the most financially smart move for me, but hopefully it was for you.
